Ok, so...
I'm really stepping it up lately. Doing more shoots, learning new stuff, even doing some advertising. I HAVE to start blogging more! There just never seems to be enough time in the day! Oh! I got the shots back from the boudoir shoot I did two weekends ago. Click here to see 'em. Nice, eh? Thought you might think so :-).
Tiffani and Marta were so awesome to work with. Their studio is SICK! I wanted to break my lease and MOVE.IN. NO BS. It rained the WHOLE day and we didn't think there'd be enough light to get all the shots we wanted...but the sun peeked out just long enough for us to get what we needed.
The model, Ashley, was very fair and she was not a regular wearer of makeup so I had to mix foundation colors for her complexion. For her, I used #OL2 and Ivory from the RCMA palette. I used Cover Girl pressed powder in Natural Ivory to powder her down. The great thing about RCMA palette colors is they can be layered as concealers as well as foundations. For her eyes, I used Too Faced EI as primer, MAC's paint Bare Canvas as a base, MAC Espresso in her crease, as well as MAC Shale to give her lids a tiny bit of glam. MUFE Diamond shadow #306 (my personal favorite) for her lids, and a Stila quad called Noire for her eyeliner and highlighter. Lashes Ardell #110. Contouring was Stila Contouring Trio. Blush MAC Peachtwist. Lip Liner was Cork and Vino (crazy combo) and then her lips were MAC HoneyLove and this really cute hot pink whose name I can't remember right now. I'll get back to you on that.
The special thing about boudoir makeup that I'm finding is that it really requires that perfect balance of a light handed use of vibrant colors. For this particular shoot, I could only go so dark because the model was so fair...but in the next shoot (on Sunday) I'm really looking forward to doing something a bit more dramatic. This shoot is for a client, though, not a model so I'm going to give her what she wants....but y'all know that if she gives me full reign to do what I think is best, I'ma give it to her, lol! And she will definitely be vibrant! What I'll do is look up some glamorous boudoir looks to have in mind, just in case she gives me the green light. I'm told that boudoir and pinup are not the same looks; pinup is a bit more cartoonish than boudoir. I'm looking for the perfect balance of the two...so lets hope that i nail it on Sunday.
Kisses my loves! Remember, it's never too late to make today a beautiful day!
